Day 2 / March 23 / Sunday
Morning arrival at Munich Airport. We are greeted by our multilingual European escort, Maximillian Schoerkheber. Our private deluxe motorcoach transfers us to Bayreuth, the home town of Richard WAGNER.
Check-in at hotel, relax and unwind.
A German welcome dinner in included.

It is a two hour drive to Leipzig. Sightseeing with a local guide focuses on the life and times of J S BACH, whose family home (now a museum) is still located opposite the 'Thomaskirche', where he worked as a choir master.

Hradschin CastleDay 5 / March 26 / Wednesday
After breakfast our motorcoach takes us to the 'Golden City' of Prague.

Upon arrival our local guide will show show us the city, including the 'Hradschin' (Prague Castle), the Mozart Museum and Villa Bertramka, Mozart's residence.

Antonin DvorakDay 6 / March 27 / Thursday
After breakfast we will start out for a half day excursion to Nelahozeves, where the country's great composer, Antonin DVORAK, was born in 1841. In his youth the house was an inn, run by his parents. The nearby 'Chateau' houses an excellent collection of fine art.

Day 7 / March 28 / Friday
Breakfast and departure for Vienna, the world's capital of classical music. On the way we will make a stop in Litomysl to see the birthplace of B. SMETANA. The town also houses one of Europe's best preserved baroque theaters, as well as the castle where most of the interior scenes for 'Amadeus' were filmed.

Schoenbrunn PalaceDay 8 / March 29 / Saturday
After breakfast, sightseeing in Vienna, including Schoenbrunn Palace. After lunch (on own) we will visit various sights related to SCHUBERT and BEETHOVEN, plus Vienna's Central Cemetery, containing the graves of many of Vienna's great composers.

Franz ShubertDay 9 / March 30/ Sunday
After breakfast, join us for a side trip to Lake Neusiedl, with a visit to the towns of Rohrau and Eisenstadt, both related to Joseph HAYDN. Return to Vienna for a free afternoon CONCERT at Palffy Palace

Day 10 / March 31 / Monday
Breakfast and departure to the 'Wachau' Region of the Danube Valley, for a River Cruise from Krems to Melk. Continuation to Salzburg by coach, two stops en route: the Benedictine monastery of St Florian houses Anton BRUCKNER's church organ, and a side trip to Lake Attersee takes us to one of Gustav MAHLER's favorite 'hideaways'.

After breakfast: early morning transfer to Munich airport for return flight to the US.

While on tour, Prof. Rudolph HAKEN (viola, violin) and Robert AULER (piano) will give a series of concerts at various locations. Each performance will focus on the music of a certain composer who was born or lived at the place visited.

There are no visa requirements for U.S. citizens visiting the countries in this itinerary. However, you need a VALID PASSPORT!

Applications for passports are available at your local post office.

When signing up, please provide your full name as it appears in your passport as well as the passport number and expiration date.
